![]() Clips from Part I Clips from Part II ( First Half ) Clips from Part II ( Second half ) Clips from Legend of Crystania Overall Story Summary The first part of the series starts of with our main character Parn as a young man whos father was killed when in service of the king. They were told that his father left in the hour of need and never since returned. However, Parn did not believe his father would be such a person and strieves to become a Holy Knight like that of his father. However, he angered his fellow villages when he saved the Village's Head's daughter from a Goblin attack and was thrown out of the village. It sounds real dumb to be punished for rescuing some one but then Parn was no longer wanted there and neither did he wanted to stay. he and his friend then set off on their quest. This section of the story unfolds to us with Parn as a young and inexperienced fighter where in the end of the story becomes a mature and seasoned warrior who then realised that his service was not to the kingdom but to the people and then left with his beautiful Elven companion to become a freedom fighter. The First half of part II, returns the lime light back to Parn where he was needed by the new king to help him destroy a dragon that was plaguing the lands and killing the people. However, that is not the only thing they needed to do...... The Dark Knight was also wanting to slay the dragon and retrieve the artifact that it protected so that he can fulfill his dead master's dream of uniting Lodoss. Here we see Parn as a skilled fighter where in the early part will meet up with a person called Spark, a knight in training who will be the Main Character in the next half of ther series. The Second half of part II is very much the re-enactment of the first series where the curse of Lodoss continues to plauge the lands. Where Parn only was able to suppress the time of this insane carnage, Spark was able to finally destroy this evil for good. and thus the story ends.... or is it? The Legend of Crystania is a spin-off from the ending of the series and takes place some hundreds of years after the events of "Record of Lodoss Wars". this time it is not in the Lodoss island itself but on a location where our dark Knight, Ashram who has left Lodoss with his people in search of a new land was trapped. Ashram not wanting his people to die, gave up his soul to the devil in exchange for passage to a new land where his people could then survive the harshness of the long voyage. It corrupted him and he then fights with this evil in him for hundreds of years, where his faithful ( and hopelessly in love ) dark Elf companion, Pirotesse continues to search for a cure for her master's encagement. The story ends with both of them dead together and our new characters moving on with their adventure. Recommendations No doubt that this is one of the best Fantasy Animes ever produced!! Thick and mature storyline which portrays to us, love, hate, desire and the cruelity of war and death. I wouldn't advise this for the young audience because of the extra amount of blood and violence and also horrible looking fresh ripping minions of darkness. Also in Legend of Crystania, there have been some changes to the characters. ( hey, its 300 over years already :P ) If you are still sitting on your chair looking at this review, you don't know what you are missing out! I re-watched this countless times already and it still never fails to entertainment to the peak :) For any fantasy genre lover, GO GET IT! |
